Captain Marvel To Fly Past $900m By This Weekend

With Avengers: Endgame just 5 weeks away from its release Captain Marvel is crunching some serious box-office collection. Also, it marked itself as the twenty-first film into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and proved to be a worthy inclusion.

Captain Marvel Box Office Collection

As of Thursday, it has already accumulated $825.1 million, worldwide. With USA and Canada contributing $286.5 million and $538.6 million in other territories. It has already surpassed the worldwide collection of 2017’s Wonder Woman ($821 million). Although Wonder Woman did great numbers in the domestic market i.e. $412 million. This seems to be far away from being concurred for Captain Marvel.

Among its peers, Captain Marvel is en route to surpass films like Thor: Ragnarok ($854 million), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($863.8 million) and Spider-Man: Homecoming ($880.2 million) as per the estimates. The estimates clearly suggest that it is bound to reach $900 million by the end of this weekend.

Even after multiple bad reviews on casting, acting, and CGI of the movie, it seems like Captain Marvel is still going forward. Some fans even suggested that with Captain Marvel, MCU wants to bring down a female superhero movie just because of the success of DC’s Wonder Woman. Also, releasing it around International Women’s Day says a lot about Marvel’s little stunt here.
